The Brief

Commissioned by Enterprise Inns and Modern British Taverns, we were enlisted to help design The Plough, a traditional pub which had been converted to a bar. During this process, the venue had lost its original character.

Our Solution

The interior was designed to reintroduce traditional elements in order to soften the venue and create a homely feel. The theme of ‘retro lodge’ was adopted, which resulted in the introduction of quirky features such as wall mounted condiment holders made out of cigar moulds, and a sweet shop behind the bar. A rear garden was developed to complement the locally procured ingredients on the menu, a unique feature in the area.
