Full Spectrum Bulbs - Energy Efficiency Date: 03/02/2010
Finally got to catch up with Megaman lighting today and what an interesting solution they offer.
As designers it has been difficult to specify environmentally friendly LED’s in the past due to the fact that they only really offer an ambient light and not atmospheric light. Using energy narrow spectrum bulbs is obviously not very conducive to the ambiance of a space.
What I saw today changes this. Not only are there now energy efficient light bulbs for use in interior design that can perform the function of reflector spot light bulbs but they can do it for less money and reduce carbon emissions massively. Also the energy efficient lighting offers nearly full spectrum bulbs for ambient lighting solutions.
As designers we are still waiting for dimmable energy efficient full spectrum bulbs but we were assured they are imminent.
