Grey Water Recycling Save a around a 1/3rd on metered water Date: 11/12/2009

Grey Water: Recycled water which comes from used water in the Workplace.

Grey water is prepared for reuse via filters that connect to a dedicated downpipe. The filter treats soaps and impurities from used water. The water is then stored in a butt or harvesting tank and can be used to water the garden, flush loos, wash cars etc.

Save money and conserve water now. A 1/3rd of all water that has been treated to a very high drinkable standard is flushed down the toilet. The cost in monetary terms and the amount of energy used to treat the water to a drinkable quality can be saved by using grey water.

So simply by having a very small filter and water butt installed you could save a 1/3rd of your metered water immediately.

Information on water filters, harvesting tanks and water butts etc is available from the UK Rainwater Harvesting Association.
