Let it snow Date: 11/02/2009

Sometimes (most times) snow is a good thing. Business stops and people start. Looking up a cobbled street it’s all very Dickensian.

Snow makes people enjoy themselves and hopeful stop to take a look around. All too often it’s too easy to walk down the same street and not listen, smell and take in the surroundings. The snow helps with the slowing of thoughts.

Snow is fun. When I was in the trade I and a couple of youngish (40/50 something’s) took the trays for the sandwiches and went trotting out after closing to find a hill and some snow. Most of it had gone slushy but at 2 in the morning we got wet, broke the trays (our sledges) but we had a super time and a great laugh. Note to self: standing on a tray to slide down a hill is fun!
